The theme of walāyah is central to Islamic weltanschauung (world-view) and has developed in various ways throughout the Islamic milieu.  This course aims at exploring this development and manifestation within different modes of thought.  This includes its usage within Quranic semantic fields and its development within the schools of theology, jurisprudence and mysticism.
