This course examines classical Arabic grammar, such as subject, predicate, verbs, prepositions, conjunctions, adverbs, and other grammar rules. The Qur'an and Hadith are in Arabic, therefore it is imperative that one gains a grasp of Arabic grammar to understand the Qur'an and Hadith, and in almost each class verses of the Qur’an are cited to demonstrate these grammatical points . The text for this course will be al-Nahw al-Wadheh, which is in Arabic, but knowledge of the Arabic language, while highly encouraged, is not required for this course. A total of 44 lessons were presented in the year 2017-2018. This course is instructed by Sayed Mohammad Baqer al-Qazwini.
