This course will examine Surat Maryam, chapter 19, of the Quran. The lessons will build on the methods and practices of tafsir discussed in the Into to Tafsir course. While there is no required prerequisite, Intro to Tafsir is highly recommended to best understand Quranic exegesis and interpretation of Quranic verses. Surat Maryam is a beautiful chapter of the Quran with wise lessons on the belief in God, the power of faith, and the inspiring story or Lady Maryam (a), Prophet Zakariyya (a), Prophet Isa (a), and Prophet Yahya (a). Sayed Saleh studied in the Seminary of Qom from 2006-2013, and he recently completed an MA in Near Eastern Studies from Wayne State University. He also completed a BA in Sociology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is a speaker and lecturer.
