This course examines rulings that concern Muslims in the West.
Muslims living in the west experience numerous challenges when it comes to practicing their religion. This course examines some of these challenges and shed light on how to observe Islamic rulings. Fiqhi issues such as understanding the Islamic perspective on the mortgage system, halal restaurants, attending meetings with alcohol served, shaking hands, women working in mixed environments, and so on, are examined in this class. A total of 19 lessons were offered in the year 2018-2019. This class is instructed by Imam Sayed Hassan al-Qazwini.

Sayed Hassan Qazwini is a leading scholar, speaker, and community leader in the United States. He studied for twelve years at the Seminary of Qom and has a number of publications. Sayed Qazwini is currently the religious director of the Islamic Institute of America, based in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.
