This course walks students through the basis and reasoning for contemporary legal matters.

This course gives students an insight into contemporary Jurisprudential issues that scholars have discussed. Students will have the opportunity to understand the basis and reasoning behind the different views of controversial legal matters, such as determining the beginning of the lunar month and relying on science in doing so, fasting and prayer in places that experience extremely long days or nights, organ donation and other modern issues. A total of 20 lessons were offered in the year 2018-2019. This course is instructed by Sayed Ahmad al-Qazwini.
