This course walks students through the Science of Rijal, the Biography of the Companions of Ahlulbayt (a).

The sources of Islamic Law are four: the Qur'an, the Sunnah, Logic, and Consensus. The most depended upon source is the Sunnah, which is the words, actions and tacit approval of the Prophet (s) and Ahlulbayt (a). The Sunnah has been passed on to us through traditions and narrations, but how can a jurist know the authenticity of such traditions? Rijal Studies helps us understand the correct methodology in which transmitters are authenticated and deemed reliable to transmit narrations. A total of 19 lessons were presented in the year 2018-2019. This course is instructed by Sayed Hossein al-Qazwini.
